A very rare antique Royal Crown Devon chocolate pot with a hand-painted floral design. This particular designed pot was originally intended for serving hot chocolate later also used for coffee or tea. Used and in very good condition considering its age. It has a clear SF&Co England Crown Devon marking on the underside, as well as the stamp "BUTE". BUTE refers to a specific style or shape of antique Royal Crown Devon chocolate pots, characterized by their elegant proportions and ornate styling. This particular pot features a hand-painted floral design and is a great example of Victorian-era ceramics, likely 1890 to 1910. Royal Crown Devon pottery originated from S. Fielding & Co. Ltd, a company founded by Simon Fielding in 1878 at the Railway Works in Stoke-on-Trent. The Railway Works was later renamed "The Devon Pottery" in 1912. Its height including the lid is 21 cm and the width across is 16x13 cm.
