DVD "Lights of Old Broadway" (1925) with Marion Davies, Classic Silent Drama

This DVD is part of our Silent Gems Collection; all its films are in the public domain. Only 30% of the Silent Era films survive and virtually all of these have varying degrees of imperfections. We believe that it is better to show to the film lovers a hundred imperfect films now, than to make them wait for decades to see one perfectly restored film.

By the standards of the average silent film "Lights of Old Broadway" has acceptable to good quality and is perfectly watchable. The facial expressions can be seen clearly. There is no missing footage nor any nitrate damage; the plot can be followed easily from beginning until end. The film has done better than 70% that are lost forever.
