Hijikata Tatsumi / The Merciful Bird Flaps Its Bony Wings
This is a CD by Tatsumi Hijikata, the founder of "Butoh," a form of dance, who also had many disciples, including Kazuo Ohno's son, Yoshito Ohno.
This work is based on a recording tape of Hijikata speaking all at once during a film shoot at the Asbestos Hall in Meguro in August 1976. It is a re-release CD of a record that was distributed to those involved as a condolence gift at his funeral. (The CD has been re-edited with additional audio not included on the original record.)
Listening to it, it may seem at first that he is speaking without any connection, but as you listen repeatedly, the story connects in unexpected places... it's an improvisational and autobiographical content.
Also, the booklet reprints Ryūhiko Shibasawa's text, which was originally printed on the back of the record's liner notes, and is also a must-read.
The condition is good.
