Vintage Chinese Shou Xing God of Longevity Teapot with Lid 1960's Chinoiserie. Approximate measurements are: 5" Tall x 7 1/2" Width (handle to spout). Maker's Mark is on the bottom. This STUNNING teapot in the form of Shou Xing, Chinese god of Longevity, hugging a giant peach. Made & Imported from China in the 1960's. Shouxing, also known as the star Canopus, is believed to control the lifespan of mortals in Chinese mythology. This star holds great significance, symbolizing the pursuit of immortality and everlasting youth. The presence of Shouxing ensures a harmonious and prosperous life, inspiring reverence and devotion from believers seeking longevity. This Wise old man holding his peach is hand painted. Perfect Addition to any Asian Collection- Hard to Find in such Pristine Condition. Condition is preowned with no chips, cracks or crazing. Few scuffs on bottom due to age, use & love.
