Vintage German KPM Berlin White Porcelain Bear Figurine - Germany Royal Porcelain Factory Playful Bear Statuette
Beautiful white porcelain sculpture of a playful, tumbling bear, marked on the underside with the KPM trade mark, the cobalt blue sceptre from the electoral coat-of-arms of Brandenburg.
KPM, (German Königliche Porzellan-Manufaktur) translates to “Royal Porcelain Factory in Berlin" which was founded by Frederick II of Prussia (Frederick the Great). KPG porcelain is well known for extremely fine and translucent composition.
It measures 4" tall, 2" wide and 4" from front to back. It is in excellent condition with minimal age related wear and no chips, cracks or crazing noted.
A lovely hand crafted and hallmarked collectible which is perfect for collectors of fine art porcelains and/or blanc de chine figural animals.
